Summer the beach came to us!
Seaside Rock was a
children's holiday club (for 5-11 years) organised by Upton Methodist
Church which ran every morning from Monday 28th July to Friday 1st
August from 10 am till 12 noon. It was a week packed full of activities,
fun and games and over 80 children came along each day.
The club followed the story of one of Jesus'
disciples who was certainly no stranger to the sea shore - Peter the
fisherman. Every day found out a bit more about him and about
what it means to build our lives on Jesus - the Rock.
Just some of the fun things that took place every day
were:
 | A range of cool craft activities with a
seaside flavour! |
 | A short video |
 | High energy beach workout! |
 | Yummy seaside biscuits |
 | Team games |
 | Brand new funky songs to sing |
 | Sooty and Sweep |
 | In For A Swim - the all-new
messy game |
The week wrapped up with an extra-special Seaside Rock service
on Sunday 3rd August at 10:30 am for all ages followed by a
barbeque lunch. It was a glorious day and lots of families came along.
Seaside Rock went really well and I'd
like to say a great big 'Thank You' to all my brilliant leaders and
helpers and also to all the wonderful children who came along!
